Facility Cleaning

The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness is currently searching for a highly motivated and energetic person to join the our team. This individual must be detail oriented, flexible, and willing to take care of non-routine cleaning and special projects as needed. This person will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, multi-purpose rooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, exterior grounds, fitness rooms, and daycare under the supervision of the facilities maintenance manager. The goal is to keep our building in a clean and orderly condition for our guests at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and supply designated building areas (vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, restroom cleanups, take out trash, etc.)
  • Perform and document routine cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
  • Cooperate and communicate with rest of staff on duty.
  • Follow health and safety standards.
  • Integrity and ability to work independently.

Team Members (Cook/Cashier/Dishwashers)
Position Overview:

As a team member you will be an ambassador of the Cornerstone Kitchen’s core values. You will be responsible for interacting with our guests and making sure that our processes run as smoothly as possible. You will report to the Cornerstone Kitchen General Manager, Assistant Manager, or Line Lead, but will be empowered to make your own decisions that create the best overall experience for our guests.

Team members are responsible for keeping the well-oiled machine running! Cooks, Cashiers and Dishwashers will all be directed to do their specific job but will be cross trained to help out all over when needed. The more interest in learning it all the greater the chances of moving up become. Team members are responsible for making sure every customer gets the best experience possible, the restaurant is kept clean and tidy, the restrooms are kept clean and tidy and the dining room as well: i.e. Seats arranged, tables cleaned off, floors swept, countertops cleaned, back of the line organized, kitchen areas clean/organized, etc.

Requirements:
Serve Safe Certified, Food Handler Level (before or after hire)

  • Customer Service: A friendly, relaxing demeanor, courteousness and quick service will help get repeat customers.
  • Stamina: Long, busy days on your feet are the trademark of the job.

Fitness Center

Group Fitness Instructors – Part time – Les Mills, Zumba, Cycle, and Silver Sneakers certified instructors

The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness (MCRW) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to build a community-based resource that fuels a lifelong passion for health and fitness, enhancing community health and wellness through education, empowerment and partnerships.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Fitness Center Manager and Group Fitness Scheduling Coordinator, Group Fitness Instructors create an atmosphere of fun, encouragement and leadership in their Group Fitness Classes. The essential job duties include:

  • Instructing various fitness levels and class formats (Cycling Certification a plus);
  • Maintains a positive, upbeat demeanor resulting in top-notch customer experience in all member and co-worker interactions;
  • Specific day-time instruction availability to meet the needs of a growing membership demographic, with occasional evenings and/or weekend instruction;
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge about exercise, health and fitness by remaining current with trends in the industry;
  • Recommends and/or creates new programs/classes to keep current with industry trends;
  • Comply with Miller Center/Fitness Center policies and goals and enforce any violation of the Fitness Center’s policies and procedures;
  • Follow guidelines set by the Fitness Center Manager pertaining to Group Fitness Instruction and safety, and reports any incidents and/or accidents to the Fitness Center Manager immediately;
  • Promote all Miller Center programs and activities and assist members in finding further information on same as needed;
  • Assist members, answer questions and provide an excellent customer service experience for all members;
  • Assist with maintenance and up-keep of group fitness equipment reporting malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Fitness Center Manager;
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and adhering to safety and security measures in the Fitness Center Group Fitness and Cycling Rooms and equipment storage area;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Fitness Management or Exercise Physiology preferred.
  • Multiple Certifications preferred, including Les Mills, Zumba, Cycle, and Silver Sneakers
  • Ability to demonstrate equipment and sound system use (as needed)
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills to work with team members and interact with members.
  • Must be certified in CPR/AED.
  • Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check are required.

In order to cover the Fitness Center’s hours of operation, we are looking for a few people to serve in this capacity. We are seeking to hire quality, energetic, and motivated individuals to join our already outstanding team!
